Community Idol Search

Canada’s community foundations are today launching a nationwide
talent search for local champions to star in the movement’s first advertising campaign. The Niagara Community Foundation is encouraging residents of Niagara to be involved. For more than 90 years, community foundations have been supporting communities large and small, from coast to coast. Together, Canada’s 191 community foundations hold more than $3.5 billion in assets, serve more than 80 per cent of the nation’s population and play a crucial role in how people give back to their communities. Now, we’re ready to tell that story!

“Community foundation staff and volunteers are passionate advocates for their communities,” says Ian Bird, President and CEO of Community Foundations of Canada. “There is no one better suited to communicate what our communities mean to us. We’re looking for people who love their community and the spotlight to come forward and be part of our campaign.” “At our recent national conference, we heard the audition poem delivered by a spoken word poet,” said Jodi Lycett, chair of the Foundation’s board. “It was truly an inspiring moment, making those in attendance proud of the impact that foundations have in the community. “We know that people from across Niagara are passionate and have a deep sense of pride in their community,” said Liz Palmieri, the foundation’s executive director. “Here’s an opportunity to share that passion through the national talent search.” Talent Search details To find people to star in the television and radio campaign, Community Foundations of Canada will be holding auditions on YouTube:
