The Thorold Fund was launched in early 2016 after Mayor Ted Luciani pledged $25,000 over 3 years to support its creation.
The goal of the Fund is to build a pool of capital to support charitable organizations providing programs and services to Thorold. Families are able to open named funds within the Thorold Fund as a way of saying thank you to the community – a way for them to leave a legacy. Since the launch the Mario and Rachel De Divitiis Fund has been created.
Thorold charities that have received grants from the foundation include: ARID Group Homes, Bethesda Community Services Inc., City of Thorold, City of Thorold - Welland Canals Parkway Task Force, Friends of Beaverdams Church, New Apostolic Church Canada, Niagara Cricket Club, Niagara Sport Commission, Thorold Community Activities Group, Wellspring Niagara Cancer Support Foundation.
