Lyn held senior positions with Niagara College, the Welland Hospital Foundation and the Niagara Health System Foundation prior to her retirement from full-time employment in 2015. She has extensive experience with consulting, strategic planning, facilitation and training for non-profit organizations in a variety of sectors. Prior to moving to the non-profit sector, she worked for 20 years in senior positions in communications in the private sector.
She is a Certified Standards Program Coach through Imagine Canada. Lyn was a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) from 2003 to 2018, an internationally valued credential that attests to knowledge, skills and achievements as a fundraising professional. She has many years of experience with annual and capital campaigns that raised millions of dollars for health and education. She has a diploma in communications, a degree in management, and has developed, led and attended many workshops and courses.
Her volunteer activities included serving as treasurer of the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Golden Horseshoe Chapter, club secretary for the Rotary Club of Welland, and numerous other boards and committees over more than 30 years.

Liz Palmieri has worked and volunteered in leadership positions in Niagara's non-profit sector for
more than 30 years. She is a passionate advocate for good governance in the sector and during her
tenure as the Executive Director of the Niagara Community Foundation she led their work to
become one of the first non-profit organizations in Canada to be accredited by Imagine Canada's
She was also one of the first Imagine Canada Accredited Coaches. Since her retirement from the
Foundation, she is consulting with organizations facilitating their strategic plans, working on board
policies, and conducting training workshops on a variety of topics, including risk management,
strategic planning, and the roles and responsibilities of boards of directors.

Gay’s career spans more than 30 years as a board volunteer, executive director and adult educator. She is passionate about the importance of strong governance in the not-for-profit sector.
In 1976 she was a founding board member and Chairperson of the Niagara Block Parent Program. Since that time has served on many other boards, most recently the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce, Habitat for Humanity Niagara and the Early Childhood Community Development Centre, where she served as Chairperson for 6 years.
Gay has worked in non-profit management and fundraising since 1989 for a variety of important causes including The Kidney Foundation of Canada, Big Sisters Association on Ontario, and the Recycling Council of Ontario. Always the entrepreneur, in 1992 she created Canada's first car donation program, and 3 years later developed Canada's first on-line auction.
For 10 years she taught communications, innovation and human resources in the Event Management post-grad program at Niagara College.
Building on her broad experience as both a volunteer leader and management professional, in 2005 Gay established Gay Douglas and Associates Inc. She specializes in board governance, policy development and strategic planning. Gay is a Certified Standards Program Coach through Imagine Canada. Gay also coordinates the Governance Partners Program for the Niagara Community Foundation.
